Enjoy a pleasant day trip by train to the market town of Driffield, known as the Jewel in the Wolds, or stroll the waterfront along picturesque Bridlington Bay. If you fancy a flutter or just an opportunity to wear a nice hat, nearby Beverley has its own race course. Just 45 minutes by car is the historic walled city of York. Or for something completely different, you can explore the North York Moors national park or indulge in a little bird watching at the RSPB's Bempton Cliffs Wildlife Reserve. On foot, the walk along the cliff path to Flamborough Head and Danes Dyke is very exciting. Around the headland, you can see the traditional fishing cobles at North Landing. Finish off your ramble with a picnic in 50 acres of 19th Century parkland at Sewerby Hall.
